Marshall Public Schools Orchestras are directed by Meagan Ransom. Meagan Ransom grew up in Traverse City, MI, where she started playing the cello in 6th grade. In 7th grade she also began studying piano, and has played both since. She attended Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, MI, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Instrumental Music Education. She played in Calvin College's orchestra and performed with chamber ensembles during her time at Cornerstone. She student taught in Jenison, MI. She was hired into her first teaching position, Marshall, in 2009, and she is so excited to be at Marshall Public Schools! Meagan lives with husband Jared in Kalamazoo with their many instruments and their bonsai tree plant. Together they love to bake delicious food and share it with all their friends.
